Welder Performance Testing
Ludwig Associates Ltd. offers welder performance qualification testing to meet our clients’ requirements at both our Calgary and Edmonton facilities. Both offices maintain ABSA Certificates of Authorization that is a provincial requirement for organizations that perform “B” Pressure welder renewal or upgrade testing. Our facilities offer an accommodating environment which allows the testing process to run as smoothly and as comfortably as possible.
We provide:
- Up to date welding machines capable of SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, GMAW-STT, FCAW & SAW
- Bright, clean and spacious welding booths
- Adjustable positioner in each booth
- Doors to the outside of the building for easy string in of welding cables
- Machine shop will prepare the coupon before the test and saw cut the required bends out of the welded coupon
Questions
- What tests are available? All welding tests are available. Our test centers have standard coupons in stock (2” NPS Sch 80, 160, XXH and 2 ˝” X 0.625” w.t.) and we supply electrodes for SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW and SAW. If our stock supplies do not meet your needs we will work with you to ensure that your requirements are met.
- What equipment do I need to bring to a test? Personal protective clothing, safety boots, and safety glasses. We also ask that the welder bring their original ABSA Grade “B” Pressure Certificate of Competency card.
- When can I take a test? We will work with our clients to conduct welder performance qualification test at the most convenient time for them, and are available every week from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
- What methods of payment are available? Ludwig accepts all major credit cards, and company checks. Our Calgary office also accepts debit.
- Where can I take a welder qualification test? Both our Edmonton and Calgary locations have weld test facilities for welder qualification tests. We are also available for onsite testing at your facility.
